Pennsylvania Poker Scene Heats Up in August and September 2025

Pennsylvania poker enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, with a series of exciting live and online events scheduled for August and September 2025.

Live Poker Events

The most anticipated live poker event in September is the RunGood Grand Prix (RGPS), which is making its debut at Penn National Race Course from September 16-21. This nine-day event features nine RGPS Ring Events and a Main Event, all live-reported by PokerNews. It's worth noting that this is the first time the RunGood Grand Prix is stopping at Penn National.

While there are no specific live events in Pennsylvania for September, the Potomac Poker Open running through August 25, 2025, located nearby (likely in the Maryland area), might be accessible to Pennsylvania players.

Online Poker Events

August 2025 is shaping up to be a significant month for online poker in Pennsylvania. BetRivers Poker is expanding its multi-state poker pools to include Pennsylvania, offering a 100% deposit match up to $1,000.

The Venom Fever satellites are also running online from July 27 to August 24, 2025, at sites like ACR Poker, PokerKing, and Black Chip Poker. These satellites lead up to the major Venom Mystery KO tournaments starting August 10 through August 24, 2025.

The Pennsylvania online poker market is strong, with new poker platforms launching and major online tournament wins recorded by Pennsylvania players.

The PokerGO Tour Dream Seat Invitational

Every ring winner from the RunGood Grand Prix can buy into the PokerGO Tour Dream Seat Invitational, offering a chance to win a seat into the PGT Championship freeroll. This high-stakes, televised showdown takes place at the PokerGo Studio in 2026, giving competitors a chance to compete with some of the best in the world.

Notable Pennsylvania Poker Players

Justin Vaysman, a resident of Pennsylvania, has made a name for himself in the poker world. In 2023, he won a WSOP Online bracelet in Event #3: $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max. In June 2025, he went on to win the WSOP $5,300 High Roller Six-Max.
